Our story

Welcome to Mamu’s Chaii. Established in 2024, Mamu’s Chaii is dedicated to brewing the perfect cup using only the finest, freshest ingredients. Mamus Chaii was born from the passion partners who loved chai and set out to find the perfect cup.

After visiting countless chai spots, from roadside stalls to modern cafes, we realized that each place had something special, but none offered everything we desired. So, we decided to create our own. A chai place that blends the best flavours, ambiance, and variety into one unforgettable experience. We’ve combined traditional recipes with fresh, high-quality ingredients to craft the perfect chai, along with a menu of street food, desserts, and drinks inspired by our journey

Our signature blend

Our signature chai is a delightful blend of aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon and cloves, brewed with premium loose-leaf tea. But our offerings don’t stop there. We serve a variety of beverages, including rich traditional tea and coffee, velvety hot chocolate, our special pink tea, and bold karak coffee—all made to warm your soul with every sip.

Street food right to your plate

But we’re more than just chai! At Mamu’s Chaii, we bring the vibrant flavors of Indian street food right to your plate. Savor our mouthwatering butter chicken curry, tangy achari (pickle) chicken curry, and fresh homemade parathas with plenty of filling choices.

Craving something more? Try our smash burgers or chicken fillet burgers, packed with flavour and sure to satisfy. Don’t forget our delectable desserts like cheesecakes, milk cakes and Nutella wraps, refreshing nimbu pani (lemon water), chilled slush drinks, and other beverages that perfectly complement your meal.

A warm, inviting atmosphere

Our newly fitted modern shop offers plenty of cozy seats, booths, and low-bearing chairs, perfect for relaxing in a warm, inviting atmosphere. With warm lighting and two feature walls designed for those who love to snap a picture, Mamu’s Chaii is as stylish as it is comfortable. Step outside to our garden seating area, where you can kick back, play on the console, or catch a football game and other sports on our big screen.

For our younger visitors

For our youngest visitors, we have a special kids' menu filled with tasty options and a dedicated kids' corner where they can unleash their creativity on our chalkboard wall and have fun with mini games. Mamu’s Chaii is a place where family, friends, and flavours come together.

How chai tea is made

Chai tea, a staple in many cultures, especially in South Asia, is a rich and aromatic blend of black tea, spices, milk, and sweetener.

Firstly

The process begins by boiling a mixture of water and traditional spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Black tea is then added to the spiced water and brewed to release its robust flavor.

Milk and a sweetener, typically sugar or honey, are incorporated to create a creamy and balanced drink

And finally

The mixture is simmered to perfection, then strained, and served hot. The result is a comforting and flavorful beverage enjoyed by many worldwide.

  When we come to places in Maindee to eat, you don't really have a lot of dining in places that are halal. Mamu's chaii has definitely got one of the best burgers I've ever had when it comes to Newport the smash-burger is a delightful burger which has plenty of flavour. The chai is quite nice but I will say that this place only just recently opened up. Things will inevitably change with the recipe, I've noticed that the chai consistency changes now and again.

  A gem not to be passed!! Absolutely recommend this place for a quick chaii, or breakfast which I had.. theres nothing to complain about..honestly the food was cooked perfectly, it was so tasty, excellent portions in comparison to other places for sure, and it wasn’t greasy at all. If you’re looking for desi style food this should be your go to!! Staff is nice, decor is definitely awesome, and I know I will be a regular customer here.. please try this place and rate it for yourself..

  My second visit to this place and I'm not dissappointed. Everything is authentic and portions are generous. I'm a returning customer and I love this place. Well done to all the team keep the amazing standards up! It's like my mother's food served to me, flavour profile texture and freshness all have hit the mark and it is not expensive.
